There is a moderate risk of mugging and terrorist attacks, and female safety is generally considered low. The major risks involve petty crimes such as scams and pickpocketing, which are very common, so for example, avoid hailing taxis on the street and be wary of your surroundings in crowded areas.

Natural risks: The most common natural disasters in Tanzania are droughts, and floods. Various epidemics are common but droughts are the primary safety concern.
