Time Capsule

Traveling has changed dramatically over the course of just a few decades. The impact of low cost flying, ease of booking accommodations, globalization, social media, travel blogs, digital cameras and equipment have radically altered not only the ways in which we travel but also the very definition of traveling itself. It used to be slower, arguably more dangerous, required more preparation, and remained shrouded in a vibe of exploration of distant lands, peoples and cultures.

This section is named Time Capsule, and it showcases the beauty of images in a time when digital photography did not exist and when photos had a “cost” without the multitude of “free” pictures which we take today.

What you will find here are not articles but crystalized snapshots which showcase moments and places, some of which do not exist anymore.

Because of this I cannot help but recall the famous quote from Roy Batty – the larger than life replicant antagonist from the original movie Blade Runner – when he said:

I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe… […]. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain…
